How do you make money on adsense?

Okay, if you’ve been online for awhile trying to find a way to make money on the Internet, you’ve probably heard of Google Adsense. But you may be wondering what all the buzz is about. Is it a fad or another get rich scheme? Hardly. It’s one of the top ways you can earn honest money on the Net, and the best thing is that the income is residual.

In other words, the work you do today will pay you tomorrow, and next month, and for as long as Adsense is around (which will likely be forever). So if you put up a website that has good content and place Adsense ads on it, and it starts making money, you will likely continue to make money with that site as long as you own it. It helps if you add fresh content now and then; maybe once a week or so. This keeps Google interested in your site and helps them decided to keep good paying ads on it.

So you make money with Adsense by having a website, or a blog, that has information that the Google search engine (or any search engine) will find and consider to be relevant to what the searcher is looking for. Because of this, it helps to have a topic specific site.
What I mean by topic specific is that if you start a website, let’s say you call it myfavoritestuff.com, and decide you want to write about everything you like ranging from strawberry shortcake to the latest Madonna video, search engines aren’t likely to find your site relevant. It’s too broad.

But, what if you narrow it down? So say you like gardening and put up a site about that. That’s a little more narrow and you might get more visitors and make a little more money with Google Adsense from it. But, you could narrow it down even more and make it about backyard gardening, or evening growing tomatoes. Now, when someone wants info about that topic, you have a much better chance of being found and getting visitors. More visitors means more money from Google Adsense – and they are happy to pay you for your good content.

So, in a nutshell, the way you make money with Adsense is to find ‘hot topics’ and make a site that discusses them. What’s hot in the news? Make a site about that. What’s hot on video? Make a site about it. What’s hot on eBay? Make a site about it. Pretty soon you’ll start to see your Adsense income growing and then you’ll easily come up with all kinds of good ideas. Just don’t be one of those who give up because they didn’t make $1000 their first month. It takes months to get it going well but it’s like that big snowball that gets momentum and keeps rolling on its own.

Google Adsense is a trademark of Google.
